In my opinion, in order to be recognized as a true professional and expert in the newborn photography industry certain criteria must be met.

They have an understanding of camera settings, lighting techniques, and composition to capture high-quality images of newborns in different poses and settings. They should be prepared to handle any situations that may arise in the studio with the equipment and can also shoot in natural light if need be.

2. **Safety Awareness**: We are handling newborn babies, it is first and foremost that a photographer know what they are doing and are well known for being safe, attentive and nurturing while they have your baby. This includes tons of experience, knowing how to safely pose a newborn, handling newborns with care, never forcing a baby into a pose, being able to read what a babies needs might be and being patient and at the mercy of the babies timeline.
